The Petzl Self-Braking ID S is a robust descender designed specifically for work at height and rope access operations. Ideal for professional users, it delivers enhanced safety, precise control, and dependable performance when handling both descents and positioning on the rope.

Equipped with an ergonomic handle, the Self-Braking ID S allows for smooth, controlled descents, while the integrated anti-panic function automatically stops the descent if the user pulls the handle too hard, reducing the risk of accidents. The anti-error catch further minimises misuse by ensuring correct rope installation.

The AUTO-LOCK system keeps users securely positioned at their workstation without needing to tie off the rope or hold the handle. Once locked, rope can be easily taken up without touching the handle, ideal for repositioning or slack management during tasks.

The safety gate on the moving side plate allows the rope to be installed while the device stays connected to the harness, increasing efficiency and reducing the chance of dropping the device during setup. The Self-Braking ID S is compatible with 10 to 11.5 mm ropes and can handle loads up to 250 kg, making it suitable for technical rescue and heavy-duty professional use.
