THE CHALLENGE

CBRE Managed Services Ltd got in touch with us at Altitude Safety with an urgent request—they needed several ammonia (NH₃) monitors that could give PPM (parts per million) readings, and they needed them in place by the end of the same week. The request came off the back of an incident that required fast action, so there was no room for delays. The short timeline created a logistical challenge. These monitors had to be ordered, shipped from the manufacturer, and be ready to use all in just a few days.

OUR APPROACH

The first step was to reach out to multiple manufacturers to source the monitors. A few couldn’t meet the request, but MSA Safety confirmed they could supply the number we needed. There was still a problem, as the scheduled delivery would be split, with most units arriving in December, but the rest wouldn’t arrive until March 2025.

That timeline didn’t suit the urgency of the situation, so our sales team worked directly with MSA to fast-track the order. We explained how time-sensitive it was, and fortunately, they were able to prioritise the order.

To make sure CBRE Managed Services Ltd had all the monitoring equipment necessary, the Altitude Safety team offered discounted hire units that could be used while they waited for the new monitors to arrive. This meant CBRE Managed Services could continue their investigation safely and didn’t have to put anything on hold.
