The C.SCOPE SGA4 Signal Generator is a cost-effective, high-performance tool designed to work seamlessly with the CXL4 and DXL4 Cable Avoidance Tools, providing a powerful solution for detecting buried utilities, especially hard-to-find services like street lighting cables and poorly earthed conductors.
The SGA4 transmits a simultaneous dual-frequency signal (33kHz + 131kHz), significantly improving the likelihood of detecting a wider range of underground services. These frequencies can be applied using direct connection, signal clamp, or non-invasive induction from the surface, offering enhanced versatility and reliable performance across different site conditions.
The C.SCOPE SGA4 Signal Generator offers three versatile methods for applying a signal to buried utilities. Direct Connection is ideal for pinpointing specific pipes and cables with precision, allowing for accurate identification, tracing, and depth measurement. When direct access is not possible, the Wraparound technique is perfect for energising circuits such as street or car park lighting. For situations where the utility is unknown or inaccessible, the Induction method allows the generator to energise services from above ground without requiring physical connection, offering a fast and efficient solution in the field.
The adjustable one-watt power output ensures the signal reaches deeper or less conductive services, and the two-position power setting gives the operator control based on tracing needs. Users can also switch between continuous and pulsed signal modes, with pulsed output ideal for high-interference environments, allowing tracing to continue effectively. An audible signal output confirms when the unit is active, and an audio mute control offers convenience in quieter zones.
