The Petzl GRILLON MGO is a professional-grade adjustable lanyard designed for secure, precise work positioning when connected to metal structures, large cables, or bars. Its standout feature is the integrated MGO connector, which has a very large gate opening, making it ideal for direct attachment to large-diameter anchor points commonly found in steel frameworks and industrial environments.
Designed for use in single mode, the GRILLON MGO connects to the ventral attachment point on a harness, distributing weight comfortably between the waistbelt and leg loops. Its fine adjustment system allows for precise control of lanyard length via an ergonomic handle, helping users maintain comfortable positioning throughout the task.
The lanyard features plastic sheaths on each end to hold connectors in place and protect the rope from wear. Available in 2 and 3 metre lengths, it is colour-labelled at the connector end for quick identification and is certified to North American and European standards.
While the GRILLON MGO is designed specifically for anchoring to large structures and provides precise positioning in static work situations, the GRILLON PLUS is built for more rugged environments. The PLUS version features a reinforced, abrasion-resistant lanyard that’s better suited for harsh conditions, such as contact with rough surfaces or heavy use in construction. In short, GRILLON MGO prioritises anchorage compatibility and comfort, while GRILLON PLUS focuses on durability and resilience.
