The Teledyne BM 25 combines the power of a fixed gas detection system with the portability and ease of a transportable unit. Designed to monitor 1 to 5 gases simultaneously, it’s perfect for temporary work sites, team protection, area surveillance, or any application where a fixed system isn’t feasible.
Weighing under 7 kg, the BM 25 is easy to transport and built for use in demanding environments such as refineries, pharmaceutical plants, turnarounds, rig overhauls, and fenceline monitoring. It’s ATEX approved and available in various calibrations and configurations to suit different operational needs.
Powered by a NiMH battery pack, the BM 25 delivers up to 170 hours of continuous runtime. It also offers STEL and TWA monitoring, and a data logging capacity of over four months, giving you long-term insights into site conditions. For broader coverage, multiple units can be linked using optional alarm transfer kits, ensuring that if one unit detects a hazard, nearby devices are also alerted.
Wireless and non-wireless versions are available, with 2.4 GHz frequency support and the ability to connect up to 30 units per network. An intrinsically safe trickle charger is also available for extended monitoring in classified zones.

A bump test is the only way to test that the whole gas detector unit is working properly. It checks that the sensors respond to the target gas, it also verifies that the display reacts and it confirms that all the alarms are activated and the detector alarm functions properly. The principle behind bump testing remains the same across all manufacturers, with a target gas applied to the monitor for usually around 30-40 seconds with a flow rate of around 0.5lpm, this exposes the sensors to the target gas and the monitor (depending on manufacturer) will show gas readings and alarms should respond accordingly. You would normally expect to see readings within 10% of the target gas applied.
